So, I got the hard top on the Scout II. It came with a little pain, but I guess so do everything in life…..I had my 13-year-old helping me, which was a 1.5-man crew working on a 2-man project. We took it slow and steady and got it up on top. I did get my finger stuck at one time between the rollbar and the 250lb steel top, which led me to think I may lose the tip of my finger, BUT disaster was averted after a long 30 seconds of my finger being squished to about 50% of its normal size! Yikes!!

I dig the color scheme with the black Scout II with a blue/grey top, but I am sticking with my original (slightly modified) idea for a paint job. I have paid my deposit, and this bad boy will be getting sandblasted, inside and out, in July of this year. As you can see, I secured some space in a local storage facility to keep it inside and prevent further rusting.

I have been researching a way to hang the Scout so that the hard top can be easily removed. Check out this link for a pully system to hold the hard top. I could weld a couple of spring-loaded ring pulls to the top of the scout to make it easier to take off. I will talk to my body guy to see if we can add something when the time comes.

Here is a little gratuitous drone footage of me driving it today after I removed all the soft top hardware.
