Project: Everyone could use 2-3 inches…
Well, well, look at you, Mr. Scout II, getting ready to stand a little taller with a 2-inch lift kit. Let’s hope your ego doesn’t get a lift, too, or we might have a situation on our hands! Before we get to the kit part, I ran across this video and wanted to understand it better.

Adding a lift kit to a Scout II is like giving it a gym membership, but for its suspension. Just remember, there’s no shame in being a little lifted, Scout II. After all, who doesn’t want to be a little more “upstanding” in life?
So, you’ll need some new leaf springs and maybe some shocks that are a bit more “shocking” than your old ones. Don’t forget to get some U-bolts, too. They’re like the “nuts” of the operation, and you can’t have a proper lift without them.
Now, as you get to work on your Scout II, remember to be gentle. We don’t want you to be too rough and cause any “suspension damage.” And when you’re all done, take a step back and admire your work. You’ve just given your Scout II the gift of height, and it’s never looked so “upstanding.”
Make sure to:
Grease the Bushings
Stickers on the Springs Towards the Front.
TIPS:
Swap out the Nylock nuts and washers. With the Grade-8 washers and Hardened nuts.
Trim the UBOLTS
The bump Stop needed for 32-inch tires is TBD.
Add steel braided brake lines, and don’t reuse nuts, etc.
Fast forward to the 36-minute mark for SCOUT II and Skyjacker Kits.
Just don’t get too cocky, Scout II. Remember, size isn’t everything. It’s the performance that counts. So, go out and show the world what your lifted Scout II can do. And who knows? Maybe you’ll inspire other vehicles to reach for the stars, too.
Mistake #2 – See the UBOLT plates below….well those are for SPRING OVER AXLE lift kits and installation. I bought those HD plates from Anything Scout and will sell them in my store because I can’t use them. I bought some from IH Parts because Anything Scout only had 2, and I needed 4. The SPRING UNDER AXLE mounts have shock mounts and a welded plate to protect the exposed UBOLT ends. Mistake COST $200 bucks…
