Today, I had a little bit of extra time so I decided to work on the rear seat. I didn’t have 100% confidence that I had the skill / patience / detail to make it happen. I have been going a little over budget on some of the other things. HUH HUM – BROKEN Axle. Anyway, I figured if I followed the video for the the guys at Anything Scout. I could do it too. I headed to ACE and bought an exacto and some hardware to replce old bolts and I was off. The bolts are 5/16 – 18 x 1.5 inches by the way.

Oh – DON’T PULL TOO HARD!!!

As you can see my seats need a little love. There was some black stuff on them that came from one of the previous owners. Turned out the foam, metal, and bolts all were in pretty good shape. I started following the video step by step.

I don’t have a lot to add to the process but I would take pictures of all braces while already on the seat. I didn’t pay attentintino to the hinges and it took me a minute to figure out which direction to orient them. Also, use an Awl to poke your holes and cut an X patter with your Exacto Knife. Thats all I needed to get the bolts to go through the Corbeau vinyl. Oh, I did take two wire clothes hangers from my close and cut them to size to slip into the bottom seat as a hog ring support wire.

and… she’s done. As you can see from the picture below. It is done until I decide which belts will go in for the seat belts that will be added to the roll bar.

It is very straight foward. Just follow the lead of the Anything Scout’s video. Just be careful you don’t rip any of the seams.
